There is currently a Unicef campaign "Never Violence", which emphasises how important growing up free of violence is for the emotional development of our children. And non-violent doesn't just mean free from physical violence, but also from verbal violence. The Unicef campaign includes a sticker set with sayings that used to be quite normal, but which still sometimes slip out today - things like "big boys don't cry" or "that didn't hurt me before" - but which are given new solutions on the stickers. For example, "I'm going to count to three and then...
