From superfluous to dangerous: baby walkers
Today it's time once again to cut off an old braid that is still braided far too often: It's about the fact that many children supposedly learn to walk faster with walking aids such as "Gehfrei" or "Babywalker".
From a paediatrician's point of view, it has to be said quite clearly: these things have no place in children. Firstly, they have no influence on faster motor development. Secondly, they greatly increase the risk of accidents for the child, who can reach dangerous places such as stairs or tables more quickly with these aids.
Experts are also certain that these support devices prevent good motor development rather than promoting it.
To summarise: Dear parents, no baby walker, no baby walker, no baby walker! You can save yourself this money. Instead, spend a nice evening with your partner.
