The last of its kind: the l2 youth examination
The final article in our series on preventive check-ups for children and adolescents: The J2 adolescent check-up is the last of its kind.
This examination is intended for young people between the ages of 16 and 17. It is not a standard check-up, but is reimbursed as part of certain health insurance programmes. We carry it out on request.
In terms of the procedure, everything is as usual: the young people are weighed and measured, their blood pressure is also taken, then their immunisation record is checked, which is a good thing, before they go to the general practitioner. A complete physical examination is carried out, for example of the back - scoliosis is sometimes a very important issue.
There is also a lot of discussion about social life. Topics such as dealing with media and mobile phones are discussed, there is room for questions about relationships and sexuality and so on - a colourful mix.
